Sixth Grade Tea

Tonight we went to Cameron's Sixth Grade Tea. It is an awards ceremony/graduation. The theme was Mardi Gras. They made masks in art class for it. Cameron's is the one in the middle.

Cameron's Presentation

On Tuesday night Cameron had to make a power point presentation on a research project he had been working on in rainbows (gifted). He was a little nervous, but he did very well.

Water Fight

The kids have been enjoying the warmer weather. A couple of weeks ago they decided to have a water balloon fight. They got each other pretty wet.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I HATE CARS!
Mood:  irritated
OK I have been without a van all week. We finally heard from the mechanic today, and aparrently I need a new car. I don't know what he decided was wrong with it, I couldn't hear Kevin on the phone when he tried to tell me. So we were hoping to go to the lake this weekend, instead we will be car shopping.

I'm Back

Sorry It has been so long... It has been a rough couple of weeks.

First the truck, it finally got towed to the mechanics Thursday afternoon (broke down Tuesday, all day Wednesday waiting for the mechanic to come look at it to figure what needed to be done to it, Thursday repeated attempts to get it towed.) The mechanic didn't get it finished before Kevin got home (he is a friend of Kevin's, and retired, he is just trying to help us out) so Kevin went over there Saturday morning to finish fixing it (with me running back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, to the parts store) and he finally got it done. So now we have a happy truck.

My computer was not happy last week so I was not on much, but Kevin fixed it. So now I have a happy computer.

As I was leaving work last Thursday the van started acting up. I press the gas and it has no power. It wasn't too bad on Thursday, but it got progressivly worse through the weekend. So Kevin and I took it over to the mechanic's this morning. It will be Tuesday or Wednesday before he gets a chance to look at it. So I am with out a vehicle AGAIN! Kevin's brothers and sister will be driving the kids back and forth to school AGAIN! Cameron is going to have to miss boy scouts this week, but he has some school things in the evening that he has to go to. Kevin's sister said that she would drive us to those. So at least he will not have to miss. Tuesday night he has a presentation he has been working on in Rainbows (gifted) on brain deseises. Thursday night he has his Sixth Grade Tea (sort of graduation and awards ceremony).  The kids have two more weeks of school. I am VERY ready for school to end. That will be one less thing for me to worry about. Oh well, I'm off to steal a car......

More Truck Trouble
Well, this wonderful truck I get to drive while my husband is gone needs to be put out of my misery! Today while I was driving home from work it broke down. I was only eleven blocks from home so I walked home and left the truck parked out in front of somebody's house (I'm sure they were wondering who's stupid truck was in front of there house all afternoon). Well, Kevin finally got ahold of the repair shop (the guy wouldn't call me back) and he cant get it in till next week. I couldn't find anyone to take me to go pick up the kids from school so I had to take a taxi, $20 just to pick up my kids from school! Well it looks like my kids probably won't go to school the rest of the week, unless I can find them a ride. This evening Kevin's brother took me to go get the truck and he looked at it a little, aparently there is something wrong with the back end, don't ask me, not my problem. So Kevin says he can fix it this weekend, but I will need to go buy the parts for him on Friday. How? Aparently, not his problem. I don't know if I'm supposed to work the rest of the week, don't know if I'll be needed. But, if they need me they will have to come and get me! So the rest of my week sounds like I'm stranded at home with these kids. By the time Kevin gets home we'll all be ready for separate vacations.

Birthday Treat
Well, we didn't really do anything for my birthday last week. But I decided that I wanted a birthday treat. So with my points from MyPoints I got myself a gift card from Olive Garden. My husband doesn't like Olive Garden so we don't ever go there. But it was my birthday so I said tough, this is where we are going. So we went there for lunch on Saturday. It was yummy. We also took Sam shopping with her birthday money. She bought two pairs of capri's, two pairs of shoes, a wig, and some candy. She still has some money left for when we are out and she sees something she just has to have.

New Week
Well nothing exciting has happened this last week. This weekend we just enjoyed not having to do anything. We sat around the house all weekend. It was peaceful. Kevin did not leave until this afternoon because he had a doctor's appointment today. So he is off again. With my van again, it does alot better on gas than the truck. Both vehicles are fixed. We have decided to change the weekend that we are going to Branson. We were going to go Labor Day Weekend, but they have a Gospel Festival going on that weekend. That did not sound interesting to us. So we are going to go Sept 12-15, during the Harvest Festival. I will be buying the tickets as soon as we get our rebate check.
